HELP NEEDED IMMEDIATELY! NEW BILL FOR CHILDREN WITH LYME DISABILITIES TO BE INTRODUCED

LYME DISEASE CAUCUS & CHILD ACT 2021: The Congressional Lyme Disease Caucus is a bi-partisan group working together in the U.S. House of Representatives to take action on Lyme & tick-borne disease issues. They have been staunch friends to the Lyme community. There is a new bill about to be introduced into the House of Representatives by long-time Lyme Caucus Chair Congressman Christopher Smith (NJ-04-R), and to date, there are several co-sponsors: new Lyme Caucus Co-Chair, Rep. Henry Cuellar (TX-28-D), Lyme Caucus Member Rep. Bill Posey (FL-8-R), and Rep. Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5-D),  and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1-R).

Lyme and Kids in School

Congressman Smith is seeking co-sponsors for the bill from the members of the Congressional Lyme Disease Caucus. A letter has been sent to them from the office of Congressman Smith asking for Caucus Member co-sponsorship for the bill. The title of the legislation is “Children Inflicted by Lyme Disabilities Act 2021,” or “CHILD Act 2021.” The purpose of the bill is “To amend the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to recognize more clearly that Lyme disease can cause disabilities that affect the education of children and to enhance educational services and related services for children with Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases and for other purposes.”

WHAT YOU CAN DO IMMEDIATELY (May 26 & 27): The Lyme Disease Association urges you to contact the Caucus members (listed below) by fax or phone and tell them it is important to sign on as a co-sponsor to this bill. Tell them they have received a letter from the Smith office. If they did not receive it, or they have questions, they can contact Kelsey Griswold at the Smith office.

You can also contact your own Congress Member if they are not one of the co-sponsors listed above. Tell them to contact the Office of Congressman Christopher Smith for details and to sign on to the bill. Must be done by Thursday night.

Provide them with examples you may know about of children with Lyme disease with persistent symptoms (chronic Lyme) who have been unable to attend school for months and even years, or if they did attend, were unable to function without significant modifications to their educational programs. Often schools did not recognize the need or did not understand what needed to be provided. Thank them for listening and understanding the plight of our children who are at some of the highest risk of acquiring Lyme disease. Children 0-19 years represented 29% of reported Lyme cases from 2001-2017 (link for more info.). Remind them the CDC now estimates that 476,000 people in the US each year are diagnosed and treated for Lyme disease (link for more info.).

WHAT LDA HAS DONE: For decades, the Lyme Disease Association Inc. has been working with parents of children who have severe Lyme manifestations which interfere with cognitive and physical abilities to receive an appropriate education since schools have not generally understood the magnitude of the problem. The LDA has provided programs for teachers, students, school nurses, and psychologists. LDA has a Professional Advisory Board member who retired as a special services director in NJ. LDA President, Pat Smith, a former Board of Education Member, acted as a child advocate in the schools for students with Lyme disease. She met with teachers, special service teams, and administrators, and has worked with attorneys, and appeared in court with parents to try to resolve these issues. She has also in-serviced school staff and provided educational in-school programs for students on Lyme and TBDs as well as developed the LDA’s ABC’s of Lyme Disease pamphlet written especially for parents and educators. The pamphlet contains information from experts on the impact of Lyme disease on children’s education, and hundreds of thousands have been distributed. The LDA also has a Lyme Kids and Schools website section (link for more info.).

Recovery From Lyme: Microbes Causing Mental Illness

Infections can cause a host of mental health disorders.

By Dr. Kinderlehrer

KEY POINTS

  • Lyme Disease was identified in Europe in 1909. It was coined Lyme disease in rural Connecticut in 1975.
  • A single tick attachment can result in the transmission of a handful of different microbes.
  • The most common cause of death in folks with Lyme disease is suicide.

Back in the old days—that is, 20 years ago—those of us treating chronic Lyme disease had either suffered from Lyme disease ourselves or had a close relative who was infected. That includes me—the story of what happened to me is described in the book Recovery From Lyme: The Integrative Medicine Guide to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Tick-Borne Illness . Having suffered the ravages of Lyme, I have a very personal perspective on these illnesses.

When Lyme was “discovered” in Lyme, Connecticut, the lead researcher was a rheumatologist. That made sense because they were investigating an outbreak of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, a fairly uncommon autoimmune rheumatologic disorder. The researchers did accurately identify that these kids did not have JRA, but rather an illness transmitted by a deer tick.

What they did not appreciate was the occurrence of neurological issues. In fact, Lyme Disease was identified in Europe as far back as 1909, and there were numerous reports in the European medical literature of neurological complications associated with this infection. (See link for article)

**Comment**

Wonderful article by Dr. Kinderlehrer, yet another doctor who has traveled personally on the Lyme/MSIDS journey.  In my opinion, doctors and researchers personally afflicted by this plague(s) are on a whole different playing field as they truly “get it.”   He points out:

  • The PTLDS myth
  • Ticks are “cesspools” of numerous bugs besides Lyme
  • Patients with numerous pathogens have worse symptoms making it harder to treat
  • There is a whole lot more going on besides infections as well
  • A nurse patient of his with a multitude of symptoms whose husband thought she was “nuts”, but became a believer after she improved on treatment for Lyme/MSIDS and addressed her imbalances. She is in full remission and off all meds
  • Pathogens can cause debilitating psychiatric symptoms and mental illness
  • For those with Lyme disease complex, the most common cause of death is suicide

Dr. Kinderlehrer will be writing on PANS/PANDAS and eating disorders next.

The Lyme/MSIDS community is blessed to have doctors such as this who choose to use their knowledge of medicine and their personal journey to help vulnerable patients the rest of mainstream medicine has abused, ignored, and left for dead.

Fauci Lied to Congress

By Ben Swan, Truth in Media

May 14, 2021

Seems mainstream media and Dr. Fauci are waffling yet again. This time it’s about the origin of COVID-19. Previously, the notion of a viral escape from a laboratory was met with laughter and raised eye-brows. Now, they are calling for an investigation as more scientists are coming forward.

This is almost becoming comical.

A recent Wall Street Journal article states that according to a previously undisclosed U.S. intelligence report, three Chinese researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology needed hospitalization back in November of 2019 for symptoms of COVID-19 and seasonal illness.

Why the about-face, now?

The heat in the kitchen has steadily been rising for Dr. Fauci, with a multitude of experts coming forth demanding an investigation.  Even a bill has been introduced requesting Fauci’s termination, and some are calling him the “Greatest Mass Killer of Our Generation.”  Senator Rand Paul has been grilling Fauci and specifically mentioned Dr. Ralph Baric of UNC-Chapel Hill who previously collaborated with Chinese virologists on SARS virus experiments.  Interestingly, Baric was one of hundreds of scientists who recently signed a letter in Science magazine arguing that “theories of accidental release from a lab and zoonotic spillover both remain viable.”

Baric even stated Fauci was “allowing super viruses to be created.”

In March of 2021, the Wuhan lab deleted mentions of its collaboration with the NIAID/NIH and other American research partners from its website. It also deleted descriptions of ‘Gain of Function’ on the SARS virus.

In August 2020, the NIAID announced a five-year, $82-million investment in a new global network of Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases that will conduct GoF experiments to “determine what genetic or other changes make [animal] pathogens capable of infecting humans”.  Source

Details are emerging of Fauci’s role in previous ‘pandemics’ that weren’t and his continual allegiance to Big Pharma when he’s supposed to be looking out for public health.  Manipulating numbers to push a new “vaccine” is nothing new and has been repeatedly done for decades.

While Fauci and Francis Collins, the leader of the National Institutes of Health are:

adamant they did not fund “gain-of-function” research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, EcoHealth Alliance received at least $3.7 million from 2014 to 2020, and Peter Daszak, a key member of the WHO-China joint study team and the leader of the EcoHealth Alliance, steered at least $600,000 in National Institutes of Health funding to the Wuhan lab for bat coronavirus research. Daszak criticized the United States for appearing skeptical of the WHO’s findings and defended China to Communist Party-linked outlets. U.S. Embassy officials in China raised concerns in 2018 about lax biosecurity at the Wuhan lab led by Shi Zhengli, dubbed “bat woman,” who worked closely with Daszak.  Source

It’s also important to note that the 2019 renewal of EcoHealth Alliance grants were conveniently not subjected to the P3CO review – a framework set up to review any potential grants that might involve gain-of-function research.  Professor Richard Ebright of Rutgers University states that NIH grants to EcoHealth met the definition of “gain-of-function research of concern,” under the 2014 pause and the definition for “potential pandemic pathogen enhancement” under the P3CO Framework. Ebright also noted that the research “was published with an acknowledgment” of the NIH grant. He concluded:

“the Wuhan lab used NIH funding to construct novel chimeric SARS-related coronavirus with the ability to infect human cells and laboratory animals and that “the research was, unequivocally, gain of function research.”  Source

Further, emails show Fauci, NIH, and WHO accommodated China on COVID confidentiality terms, more and more experts are stating COVID was likely being developed by the military and leaked out, a Chinese whistle-blower states COVID was made in a lab, an investigative journalist states a paper has surfaced showing the specific activity Fauci funded, but was immediately taken off-line, and a Nobel Prize winner also states COVID is a lab creation.

Dr Luc Montagnier states:

  • SARS-CoV-2 appears to be a benign bat coronavirus modified to integrate spike proteins that allows the virus to enter human cells by attaching to ACE-2 receptors
  • The virus also appears to have been modified to integrate an envelope protein from HIV called GP141, which tends to impair the immune system. A third modification appears to involve nanotechnology, which allows the virus to remain airborne longer

There’s simply too much evidence to continue playing dumb when the kitchen’s on fire.

**Update**

Senate passes amendment banning gain-of-function research in China.
Despite all the evidence it appears the Biden administration has just  shut down investigating COVID-19 origin.

Please review for yourself the growing list of deaths and adverse reactions reported after the COVID injections.

LYME SCI: Lyme spirochetes in an autopsied brain (despite treatment)

By Lonnie Marcum

This article was originally published here but has been updated with new information.

WHAT REPELS TICKS NATURALLY?

what repels ticks naturally

Ticks patiently hold on to blades of grass and shrubs in a position known as “questing” as they await their next meal or host. “Almost blind, ticks rely on chemosensation to identify and locate hosts for a successful blood meal,” write the authors of “Behavioral responses of Ixodes scapularis tick to natural products: development of novel repellents.”¹

As the number of tick-borne diseases grows and the geographical spread of ticks continues, there is an increasing interest in what repels ticks naturally and which products are effective and safe to use.

Little is known about exactly how ticks detect odors and what smells repel them. “Improving our understanding of tick olfactory mechanisms and odor driven behaviors is key to enabling development of new repellents,” writes Faraone, lead author of the study.

The study examines the effectiveness of natural repellents, particularly plant-based repellents, explains Faraone. “Plant-derived essential oils are natural products that exhibit insecticidal and repellent activities and represent a promising alternative to synthetic repellants.”

Lemongrass essential oil

When researching looked at what repels ticks naturally, the authors found that in behavioral bioassays “lemongrass essential oil and its main chemical constituents (such as geraniol, β-citronellol and citral), as well as PEA [phenethyl alcohol], were significantly repellent to I. scapularis nymphs.”

“The efficacy of lemongrass essential oil was dose-related,” the authors explain. It was “effective in repelling up to 76% of I. scapularis nymphs after 10 minutes when applied at the highest tested concentration.”

The substance was more effective at higher concentrations in repelling ticks. But, the effect declined after 2 hours from the first application to 62.5% compared to a DEET-based product of 87.7%.

The authors did not report on the repellent effects outside the lab. And given that the formulation was proprietary, its ingredients were not disclosed.

However, they found that “PEA- and geraniol-based formulas exerted an effective repellent action representing a valid natural alternative to synthetic repellents already available on the market.”

Oregano, rosemary, spearmint and thyme oils

In another study, Soutar et al. also addressed the question: what repels ticks naturally? They treated blankets and trousers with either 5% oregano, rosemary, spearmint or thyme oils or 20% DEET. They found, “The number of ticks present on the blankets or trousers differed significantly between treatments.”²

“Significantly fewer ticks” were found on the blankets and trousers treated with spearmint oil and on the blankets treated with oregano oil.

“For ticks that did attach to the trousers, the rate of drop off within 3 min was significantly higher for trousers treated with spearmint oil or thyme oil than ethanol, oregano oil and rosemary oil,” the authors write.

They conclude, “The results suggest that 5% oregano and spearmint oils exhibit potential as natural clothing repellents, with an effective equivalence to 20% DEET.”

Oil of lemon eucalyptus

Investigators used the lone star tick to test the efficacy of 4 commonly used ingredients in repellents:  DEET, Picaridin, IR3535, and Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus.³  Repellency was tested after 3 and 6 hours.

They found that each repellent “significantly reduced” the number of tick engagements to fabric for at least 6 hours. There was not any significant difference in repellent efficacy between the 4 ingredients after 3 hours of application.

However, after 6 hours, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus repelled ticks more than the other ingredients.

DEET

DEET (diethyltoluamide) is not a natural tick repellent but like lemongrass essential oil, the concentration of DEET also impacts its ability to repel ticks, as shown below:

  • 0% of DEET = 8.5% repelled
  • 5% of DEET = 16.6% repelled
  • 10% of DEET = 30.4% repelled
  • 20% of DEET = 68.9% repelled
  • 40% of DEET = 88% repelled

Interestingly, 0% DEET repelled 8.5% of ticks at 10 minutes. This is similar to the placebo effect.

The actual concentration of DEET from the manufacturer is 25% to 30%. The actual concentration on the skin for DEET or the proprietary products was not described in the study.

Most importantly, the study was completed on a paper filter. It remains to be seen how DEET or the natural-based products will work on people.
