Letter to Elon Musk and SpaceX: Stop Launching Catastrophically Dangerous Broadband Satellites (Signatures Needed)

By B.N. Frank

Safer and more secure high-speed internet can be achieved with a hard wired internet connection (see 1, 2, 3).  5G (see 1, 2), 4G (see 1, 2) and WiFi (see 1, 2) ARE NOT SAFE.  Installing fiber optics for internet access is safer than launching broadband satellites for numerous reasons (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

Stop 5G International has posted an open letter asking that Elon Musk and SpaceX stop launching broadband satellites.  If you oppose broadband satellites – please sign and share it ASAP.  (Click “Open Letter Link” to sign petition)

Open Letter to Elon Musk & SpaceX

SUBJECT: Of bees, humans, and satellites

Dear Elon Musk, Kimbal Musk and all SpaceX Board Members, Officers, and Lead Investors,

In 1962, when Rachel Carson published Silent Spring, insects were so thick upon this Earth that you could not drive a car very far, anywhere in the world, without its windshield becoming splattered with their bodies.

Ms. Carson would not recognize the world today: Windshields are clean. Birds are starving. Crops have no pollinators. A solution has been suggested for farmers: robotic bees, which are being developed at Harvard University. But that is not a solution for the world, because as the insects go, so go we.

And the world knows this. Why have millions of people joined environmental organizations? Why did Jeff Bezos just create a $10 billion-dollar environmental fund? Why are wealthy people signing up to go live on Mars and leave the Earth behind? Because our home is being destroyed, and on some level everyone knows this. But they do not know why. Yes, there are climate change, habitat destruction, and insecticides, but those cannot explain the 76 to 82 percent decline in flying insects in 63 nature preserves in Germany. Those cannot explain the 97 to 98 percent decline in crawling insects in a pristine rainforest in Puerto Rico.

If you expose honey bees to an ordinary cell phone for just ten minutes, their metabolism shuts down. Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins build up in their blood. They can no longer metabolize their food or utilize the oxygen they breathe. And since the same radiation is bathing us all, to a greater or lesser degree, everywhere on Earth, the same thing is happening to every living thing. It happens faster in bees than in us because bees have a much higher metabolism. The radiation comes from all forms of wireless technology, on Earth and in space, and it is being treated as if it is not there.

We are writing to you at this time because SpaceX is in process of surrounding the Earth with a network of thousands of satellites whose very purpose is to irradiate every square inch of the Earth. SpaceX, like everyone else, is treating the radiation as if it were not there. As if the mitochondria in our cells do not depend on electrons moving undisturbed from the food we digest to the oxygen we breathe. As if our nervous systems and our hearts are not subject to radio frequency interference like any piece of electronic equipment. As if the cancer, diabetes, and heart disease that now afflict a majority of the Earth’s population are not metabolic diseases that result from interference with our cellular machinery. As if insects everywhere, and the birds and animals that eat them, are not starving to death as a result.

We write to you today to ask you to halt the Starlink project because it is so destructive. Although the satellites are a few hundred miles high, even the tiny levels of radiation that will reach the surface of the Earth are higher than levels from solar storms that have been correlated with beachings of whales — whales that live in oceans which until now have hardly been subject to manmade radiation at all. And the satellites are being located in the Earth’s ionosphere, which controls the global electric circuit that we all evolved with, and that travels through the bodies of all living things on its way from sky to Earth, through Earth and oceans, and back up to the sky during thunderstorms. We pollute this circuit with billions of electronic frequencies at our peril.

We ask you to halt this project and sit down and meet with us, and with our scientific colleagues, and with our colleagues from the astronomical community, who have just formed the Safeguarding the Astronomical Sky Foundation (SASF). The sky belongs to everyone. The consequences of filling it with thousands — potentially tens of thousands — of disposable satellites are many:

  • radiation
  • visible pollution of the night sky
  • interference with astronomy & meteorology
  • rocket exhaust, contributing to ozone depletion and climate change
  • ground and water pollution from intensive use of increasingly many spaceports
  • accumulating space debris
  • continual deorbiting and burning up of aging satellites, polluting the atmosphere with toxic dust and smoke
  • ever-increasing likelihood of collisions
  • increasing risk of the Kessler syndrome

Do we really want to build learning gardens at our schools, that will be pollinated with robotic bees? Do the oceans and Antarctica and all rainforests and wildlife preserves really need the Internet? Do the immutable stars in the unchanging heavens really need competition from ten thousand or more moving lights? We believe in something better. For us. For our children. For insects and for all of life.

We await your response.

Arthur Firstenberg, Scientist & Author, The Invisible Rainbow: A History of Electricity and Life, (2020)

Since 2017, doctors and scientists have asked for 5G moratoriums on Earth and in space (see 1, 2).  Since 2018 there have been reports of people and animals experiencing symptoms and illnesses after 5G installation (see 1. 2, 3, 4).  The majority of scientists worldwide oppose deployment.  Cities AND entire countries have taken action to ban, delay, halt, and limit installation AS WELL AS issue moratoriums on deployment.  Americans opposed to 5G may also sign this letter asking President Biden and Vice President Harris to stop deployment.  A petition boycotting 5G phones has also been endorsed by doctors, scientists, and telecom industry whistle blowers.

Of course exposure risks ARE NOT isolated to 5G.  Last year The World Health Organization warned that high levels of Electromagnetic Fields (aka “Electrosmog”)could cause health issues in a significant percentage of the population.

Americans have already paid to have safer access to high speed internet via fiber optics (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).  Regardless, The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) continues to subsidize the additional installation of unsafe 5G and WiFi including through satellites (see 1, 2).  Billionaires have criticized the FCC for giving more funding to SpaceX than other companies like theirs.  It’s all so ridiculous and yucky.

WHY DENTAL PROFESSIONALS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF LYME DISEASE

Cheryl Bell – February 19, 2021

Early detection and treatment of Lyme disease are important if more serious conditions, such as arthritis, nervous system problems, and carditis, which affects the heart’s electrical system, are to be prevented.

At the end of August 2019, a patient booked an urgent appointment with her dentist. A painful toothache had woken her the night before. Her symptoms also included intense pain in her jaw, temple, and neck, accompanied by a tingling on her lower left lip and left side of her tongue. She also experienced the feeling of sweats and chills during the night and an odd sensation in her shoulder and left arm.

Despite thorough examinations, neither her dentist nor the endodontist she was referred to could find any dental abnormalities. A visit to a Halifax hospital emergency room ruled out both a heart attack and a stroke. It was only when an inflamed bump with a bull’s eye appearance appeared on her thigh a day later that the patient’s family doctor was able to diagnose Lyme disease.

The case is the topic of a paper that Isabel Mello, assistant professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, published with Halifax endodontist, John Peters, and Faculty of Dentistry assistant professor Chris Lee in the Journal of Endodontics in June 2020, “Neuropathy mimicking dental pain in a patient diagnosed with Lyme disease.”

“It was shocking to me to know someone — a personal friend of mine — with Lyme disease,” says Dr. Mello, explaining her interest in the case. “It is a serious illness that can present with a variety of symptoms, such as orofacial pain, fever, and chest pain. If there is no obvious tick bite, Lyme disease can go undiagnosed, bringing much suffering to the patient.”

Nova Scotia – an at-risk area for Lyme disease

Lyme disease is caused by a bacterium that is spread by infected blacklegged ticks. According to the Nova Scotia government’s publication, “Guidance for Primary Care and Emergency Medicine Providers in the Management of Lyme Disease in Nova Scotia,” the entire province of Nova Scotia is an “at-risk area” for Lyme disease. The patient had been camping in two high-risk areas in Nova Scotia before her diagnosis, but this is not the type of question that would normally be asked during a dental appointment.

Although tick season officially begins in April, ticks are active all year. In fact, if the temperature is above 4 degrees C, ticks will be on the move. Early detection and treatment are important if more serious conditions, such as arthritis, nervous system problems, and carditis, which affects the heart’s electrical system, are to be prevented.

“Pain in the orofacial area is not a rare presentation of Lyme disease,” says Dr. Mello, “Although one of the differential diagnoses the endodontist put forward was trigeminal neuralgia, which is one of the presentations of Lyme disease, a definitive diagnosis of the illness is difficult without a visible bite site or rash.”

Someone with Lyme disease may experience temporomandibular joint pain, headache, and neuralgia.

In particular, symptoms of neuropathy in the orofacial area, such as numbness, prickling or tingling, and sharp, jabbing, throbbing, or burning pain, may mimic dental pain and could prompt patients to visit their dentists looking for answers.

The need to know

“Any health care provider — including dental practitioners — should be aware of the risk factors for Lyme disease, know about its signs and symptoms, and consider Lyme disease as a differential diagnosis for atypical pain in the orofacial area,” says Dr. Mello. “This is particularly important when there is no obvious tick bite.”

Dr. Mello suggests that health professionals consider asking more in-depth questions, including about recent changes to a patient’s overall health and trips to high-risk areas. She also recommends that they consider making further referrals and collaborating with other health professionals.

“A delayed diagnosis is frustrating and worrying for both the patient and health care providers,” says Dr. Mello. “This disease can also be fatal. Dental professionals play an important role in helping to diagnose Lyme disease early.”

Before health professionals will begin asking “more in-depth questions”, they will need to change their mindset.  They’ve been educated in medical school that Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat and always comes with a bullseye rash.
This oversimplification of one of the most complex illnesses known to man has been dooming patients for decades.

Excerpt:

For nearly 100 years, consistent Supreme Court precedent has held that parents have both the duty and the right to direct the care, custody, and control of their minor children. But Bill 23-171, proposed by Councilman Cheh and cosponsored by a majority of the council, would defy that precedent, stripping parents not only of the authority to make a decision, but even to know about the decision being made.

Sarah Cormode and Dr. Melanie Wills with Looking at Lyme, episode 13.

Back to the lab with Dr. Melanie Wills from the G. Magnotta Research Lab at the University of Guelph

In this episode Sarah talks research, Canadian research that is, with Dr. Melanie Wills. She is the Director of the G. Magnotta Lab at the University of Guelph, conducting research and studying the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of Lyme disease. She became interested in researching Lyme disease while working on her PhD, when her own health history intersected with her research interests. When a doctor suggested she may have symptoms of Lyme disease, Dr. Wills agreed that her symptoms were similar, but she had been tested, and Lyme disease had been ruled out. At the doctor’s recommendation, she explored further into the disease and the testing for it. When she realized that the research around Lyme disease was inadequate, her career moved toward helping to fill that gap while at the same time incorporating her PhD and her lived experience with the disease. Dr. Wills recalls how conversations with fellow researcher Vett Lloyd, Jim Wilson (CanLyme President) and the G. Magnotta Foundation resulted in the collaboration behind the lab located at the University of Guelph.

Dr. Wills talks about their research examining the different forms that Borrelia (Lyme bacteria) can adopt, including round bodies and biofilms, and what role they have in the expression of the disease. She is also looking at how a person’s genetics and the genetics of the bacteria might play a role in how the disease is expressed. Dr. Wills points out that the body’s reaction to the bacteria can cause an excessive inflammatory response, and how that may differ from person to person. She also describes their research study which looks at peoples’ experiences with Lyme disease including their interactions with the medical system.

One of the other exciting areas of research in her lab is the development of a new diagnostic tool for Lyme disease. Dr. Wills takes us into the science and history behind the current Canadian testing protocol and explains some of the shortcomings of this protocol in terms of immune response and the inability to rule out ongoing infection using these tests.

People with chronic Lyme can’t help but notice the many similarities between Lyme disease and COVID-19. Dr. Wills has been working with researchers at Mount Allison University to study the chronic complications of COVID-19. Studying these symptoms and comparing them to Lyme disease may help to determine which systems in the body may be involved for both diseases. She tells us about other research happening now that may help us to understand what is going on with a certain population by looking at genomes.

Dr. Wills shares a vision for advances in research in Lyme disease, including more collaboration between researchers and points out that the political landscape is currently hampering such collaboration. She is also concerned that, because Lyme disease has been inaccurately framed as a disease that is easily treated, there has been little interest in funding better treatments and research. Despite all of the challenges Dr. Wills has had to manage both personally and professionally, she believes that we are up to the challenge of finding better solutions in the future. Thank you so much Dr. Wills for all the hard work you are doing to help improve the lives of people with Lyme disease!
