New York hospitals treating coronavirus patients with vitamin C

Seriously sick coronavirus patients in New York state’s largest hospital system are being given massive doses of vitamin C — based on promising reports that it’s helped people in hard-hit China, The Post has learned.

Dr. Andrew G. Weber, a pulmonologist and critical-care specialist affiliated with two Northwell Health facilities on Long Island, said his intensive-care patients with the coronavirus immediately receive 1,500 milligrams of intravenous vitamin C.

Identical amounts of the powerful antioxidant are then readministered three or four times a day, he said.

Each dose is more than 16 times the National Institutes of Health’s daily recommended dietary allowance of vitamin C, which is just 90 milligrams for adult men and 75 milligrams for adult women.  (See link for article)

Professor Peter Collignon from the Australian National University medical school said if people stay two metres apart it should be adequate social distancing.

Professor Collignon’s comments come as NSW and Victoria introduce strict social restrictions.

“You are safer outside than inside,” he said. “I do not see how anyone’s going to get this virus if they keep two metres away from someone and I don’t see how anyone’s going to get it if they sit on a park bench.”

Professor Wittkowski urges that the schools be open now, so that the virus may spread harmlessly among the young, and thus shorten the amount of time the elderly and immune compromised must be sequestered.

  • The UK plans to roll out “immunity passports” to allow people who have contracted COVID-19 to leave the lockdown early.
  • UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the certificates would be issued to people who have built up immunity to the coronavirus so they can return to “normal life.”
  • Citizens would need to test positive in an antibody test before being issued with the certificates.
  • However, the UK has yet to identify a reliable test for antibodies to the virus.

I’ve stated before that I believe my whole family had COVID-19 back in January.  As I talk with people, they too feel they’ve already had it. It would be nice to test for it just to know – but the tests, similarly with Lyme disease, are completely worthless. This is probably one of the hardest things for patients wanting a piece of paper to understand. Unfortunately we live in a world where pieces of paper confer validation.

If we break this down logically; however, the same that is true for Lyme/MSIDS is true for COVID-19 and that is you look at symptoms and go from there. But some will say, but COVID-19 is novel (new) and we need to be more worried about it.  Do we?  Who says? Remember, Coronaviruses are an ever present part of the seasonal flu cycle and constitute 10-15% of the yearly flu.

Please keep in mind that again – most people contract the virus and have minor symptoms, if any at all, and go onto fully recover. For severe cases; however, hydroxychloroquine (plaquenil) is proving to be a game changer.

A few important quotes from the article:

“Physicians should have more of a voice in how we deal with this pandemic and be able to quickly share information with one another and the world,” he said. “With censorship of the media and the medical community in some countries, along with biased and poorly designed studies, solutions to the pandemic are being delayed.”
I couldn’t agree more. If there’s one thing that’s needed it’s level heads based upon unbiased science. In my opinion too much power has been given to a very small list of people who often don’t even have medical training let alone experience treating patients.
I’m also hearing from European doctors that they can’t even prescribe plaquenil due to “side effects.”
But these doctors weren’t born in a barn and understand that “the powers that be” won’t profit from a drug that costs 10 cents a pill.  They also remember that for 70 years plaquenil was given to all travellers over the counter  and then one day “POOF!” it became a prescription drug.

The survey also found that 83% of global physicians anticipate a second global outbreak, including 90% of U.S. doctors but only 50% of physicians in China.
This last statement isn’t being addressed at all – but COVID-19 is a virus.  Viruses hang around and come back. The idea that humans are going to circumvent this natural phenomenon is completely illogical and quite frankly, egotistical. 
In this eye-opening article by a molecular biologist, the author points out the exact same issue of  the need to develop immunity to COVID-19 for the logical reason it will come back:
I’ve extracted those points but read the entire article as it highlights the events leading unto where we are today showing rife conflicts of interests in those making the decisions:
  • The author astutely points out that being exposed to viruses, bacteria, and other antigens strengthens the immune system and confers long-term immunity.
  • Even CDC’s Dr. Fauci states he would be “willing to bet anything that people who recover are really protected against reinfection.” https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-fauci-those-who-recover-will-be-immune-2020-3?  The author points out that all the fear panic purchasing of cleaning supplies is like “putting oil on a fire” and that those not exposed to COVID will be vulnerable to it in the future.  
  • Even Mike Ryan, Executive Director of the WHO’s Emergency Services Program states,

“What we really need to focus on is finding those who are sick, those who have the virus, and isolate them — find their contacts and isolate them,” Ryan is quoted as saying in the interview. “The danger right now with the lock-downs … [is that] if we don’t put in place the strong public-health measures now, when those movement restrictions and lock-downs are lifted, the danger is the disease will jump back up.”

The question begging to be asked is WHY Fauci and other authorities are preventing people from conferring immunity and WHY he would deny life-saving treatment for severe cases.
When you answer those questions you begin to understand the real reasons behind this debacle.
