Wrongful death suit shows pitfalls of IDSA Lyme guidelines

https://jameslyonsweiler.com/2019/08/09/autoimmune-psychosis-fingerprints-of-aluminum-induced-autoimmunity/

Autoimmune encephalitis is a condition in which the immune system attacks brain proteins.  It was first described by Dalmau in a patients with teratoma who exhibited high levels of autoantibodies that were reactive to neuronal tissue.  These patients also experienced severe psychotic and neurological manifestations, including anxiety, delusions, mania, short-term memory loss and seizures [1]. Immunomodulation and tumor resection reversed the symptoms.

It is well established that aluminum hydroxide can induce autoimmunity of many forms in animal models.  We recently had a paper on the issue of dose relevance to humans accepted and then not published by the journal Autoimmunological Reviews (first because it was too controversial, and then because we dared to have published a draft copy of the manuscript in the name of Open Science).  Our analysis showed that the per body weight aluminum hydroxide dosing in animal models overlapped the exposure experienced by humans when the animal model incorporated a genetic predisposition; a child at the age of two receiving 5 aluminum-containing vaccines would be receiving doses that overlap those with animals that reliably and consistently develop autoimmunity at those doses due to the combined genetic and environmental effects.

We also know that there is a genetic risk to many forms of psychosis.  Genetic variation at genes the encode for ion channel protein may increase individual risk for psychotic disorders. Specific variants at the L-type calcium channel locus are known to confer individual (specific) risk of psychosis within at least five neuropsychiatric disorders, including but not limited to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder [1].

A growing scientific and popular literature is pointing to autoimmune psychosis a real phenomenon, and to many people, it seems as if the whole world is going mad.  Social tensions on the rise in the US fomented by divisive political rhetoric has some pointing to a “Political Cold War” [2].

Earlier [3,4] and later [1] reviews list specific genes for which autoimmunological evidence is high.  However, these reviews call the condition “autoimmune encephalitis” or “synaptic autoimmune encephalitides”.  It is no longer useful to euphemize the condition, which should be re-labeled “autoimmune psychosis”.    Psychologists have also noted increase risk of psychosis in non-neuronal autoimmune conditions (such as Type 1 diabetes) [5], and some genetic variation at HLA-region genes are known to also be associated with psychiatric disorders.

It’s one thing to say that vaccines are for “the greater good” and point to belief in protection from herd immunity and not count the cost of vaccine injuries that society can recognize.  But it’s another to pump hundreds of millions of children with aluminum hydroxide against a backdrop of scientific knowledge that tells us that there may in fact be population-wide attendant consequences to the mental wellness of people in general, with some portion of the population doomed to psychosis – with no plan to work towards helping those individuals reverse the immunological dysfunction or remove the accumulated aluminum from their brains and bodies.

The lack of long-term whole health outcome studies on adverse events that may be associated with vaccination is reckless endangerment.  There is no impetus on the established allopathic model for practice and research to conduct studies of the combined role of genes and vaccines on chronic health – including mental health.  To me, that’s criminal negligence, and those who misinform the entire population that vaccines are safe for everyone – when in fact we know that they are not safe for some – do so at unknown risk to public safety.  We all live in the same society, share the same schools, shop at the same malls, eat the same restaurants.  Perhaps there are other risks that we should be more concerned about than having our kids miss a few days of school with historically mild illnesses.

Autoimmune psychosis is something we are hearing more and more about. Those infected with Lyme/MISDS need to be aware of the connection to autoimmune conditions which can also cause mental changes. A qualified health practitioner should be sought out if an abrupt mental change occurs.
https://madisonarealymesupportgroup.com/2017/10/01/panspandas-steroids-autoimmune-disease-lymemsids-the-need-for-medical-collaboration/  There is often involvement with Lyme/MSIDS in both Autism and PANS.  Here we see a story of Patrik, who was diagnosed with Lyme Disease which then morphs into Autoimmune encephalopathy. It took 10 years and 20 doctors to obtain the Lyme disease diagnosis behind his autoimmune condition.

This pivotal study shows the complex issue of coinfections and the Lyme persister organism in lowering patients’ immune systems thereby opening the door to opportunistic infections which can cause encephalopathy:  https://madisonarealymesupportgroup.com/2018/10/30/study-shows-lyme-msids-patients-infected-with-many-pathogens-and-explains-why-we-are-so-sick/

The only box Lyme fits into is “Pandoras.”

Time is revealing the tangled and complex issues being discovered with it. Importantly, Lyme disease is typically NOT a singular disease caused by a singular organism but a polymicrobial illness that can consist of bacteria, viruses, unique parasites including worms, as well as autoimmunity.

It is imperative that authorities change their myopic stance and subesequent treatment of the millions who are wrongly suffering with this.

https://thevaccinereaction.org/2019/09/why-are-vaccine-adverse-events-not-acknowledged-or-reported-by-medical-professionals/

Why are Vaccine Adverse Events Not Acknowledged or Reported by Medical Professionals?

Legislators have the professional and moral obligation to protect children and support equality, but Senate Bill 2761 by Sen. Richard Pan, which would eliminate almost all vaccine medical exemptions, aims to segregate a minority of children from their right to an education. And even worse, for families who can’t afford homeschooling, SB 276 puts these vulnerable children at higher risk for repeat vaccine adverse events.  As a pediatric intensive care nurse for 13 years, I believe in vaccinations and understand the desire for community immunity, but I have also observed many vaccine adverse events that shouldn’t be ignored any longer.

I administered vaccines without hesitation until a previously healthy teen came into our unit with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM)—brain swelling—after receiving the meningococcal vaccine earlier that week. The teen was paralyzed, in a coma, and had to be placed on a ventilator in the ICU for weeks. When I shared with the treating physician that ADEM was listed as a possible reaction to the meningococcal vaccine and asked whether we should report this to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), I was told a firm “NO” without further discussion. Three weeks later, the teen left our unit still unable to walk or talk, and there was no discussion of the possible cause or the recent vaccination.

After that, I began to notice that most doctors never asked if a new patient was recently vaccinated, despite the child’s diagnosis being listed as a possible adverse event on the vaccine insert. And if I informed the doctor that a parent mentioned their child was recently vaccinated, it was most often ignored. I have seen dozens of cases of seizures, SIDS, paralysis, diabetes, or immune system dysfunction following vaccination, yet I have only seen one report made to VAERS. It begs the question: why are these vaccine adverse events not being acknowledged or reported?

SB 2762will herd children who were unlucky enough to suffer a vaccine reaction, but lucky enough to have a doctor acknowledge it, into a database where the state will be able to track them, freely violate their rights, and kick them out of school.

Medical professionals agree that all pharmaceuticals carry potential risks. Just as there is a small percentage of children who are allergic to penicillin, there is a percentage of children who have serious reactions after vaccination. SB 276 proponents claim only “1 in a million” reactions, but that’s referring to anaphylactic reactions, not reactions like seizures and paralysis.

Currently, in California, only less than one percent of children have vaccine medical exemptions because of a previous adverse event or family history which puts the child or sibling at risk. Under SB 276,1as it’s currently written, there would be a narrow scope of “approved” reactions—anaphylaxis and encephalopathy—and even if a child experienced those, there is no clause for family history so siblings would have to be vaccinated as well. I can’t imagine the decision these parents will have to make, being coerced into risking repeat injury or death, just to keep their children in school.

Physicians are bound to their Hippocratic Oath to “First, do no harm,” but government officials do not carry any liability for injury or harm, nor do pharmaceutical companies since the 1986 National Childhood Vaccination Injury Act protects them. SB 2763would be a liability-free, government-mandated system that harms these vulnerable children again.

As a nurse, I understand the desire to maintain community immunity. In 2018, the CDC reported that California has immunization rates above 96 percent for its school children, one of the highest rates in the nation. The California Department of Public Health reported 15 pediatric measles cases this year, not one related to school children with medical exemptions.

Yet SB 2764would systematically discriminate against these children with special needs, their rights to privacy, and their free and equal education would be eliminated.

Is this discrimination of less than one percent of children with medical exemptions really a public health crisis and worth the $40 million it will cost taxpayers? The government should be focused on legitimate public health issues, like the Typhus, Typhoid Fever and TB outbreaks among our growing homeless population, rather than this minority of injured children.

KIDS AND LYME DISEASE, PART 2. THIS BLOG ADDRESSES SOME COMMON COGNITIVE LYME DISEASE SYMPTOMS AMONG CHILDREN AND HOW THEY MAY PRESENT IN SCHOOL

kids-lyme-disease_cognitive-symptoms

Summer is over and schools are back in session. As your kids adjust from spending summer days outdoors to being in the classroom again, have you noticed anything different about their behavior? Are they, for example, having trouble focusing? Is it harder getting back into the school routine this year? Are they suddenly forgetting about homework assignments? Do they seem more easily irritable than usual? Are they so exhausted they’d rather hang on the couch than play with friends after school?

It’s easy to dismiss any of these changes as momentary blips—and sometimes they aren’t more than that. But if this isn’t your child’s typical behavior, he or she may be suffering from a tick-borne infection like Lyme disease, which can take several weeks or months after a tick bite to develop. Meaning a tick bite that either went unnoticed over the summer, or even one that was treated, could result in symptoms now. With that time delay parents might not so readily connect the child’s symptoms to a tick bite. This opens the door for the disease to advance from an acute to disseminated or late stage form before it’s even detected.

Early stage Lyme disease is usually diagnosed based on physical symptoms, such as a bulls-eye rash, fevers, headaches, tiredness, joint, muscle pains, etc. But Lyme can also cause many psychiatric and cognitive symptoms that can be easily missed or confused with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, gastritis or learning disabilities.

kids lyme disease_common cognitive symptomsUnlike adults, children with Lyme disease often can’t always explain what feels wrong. They suffer when their bodies hurt, when they can’t get enough sleep at night, when they struggle in school, when they don’t feel like playing. Typically, says Daniel Cameron, M.D., M.P.H., children and adolescents suffering with Lyme disease will often have intense headaches that can last for days, mood problems, and they may experience an inability to engage in activities they once enjoyed. A happy child can become sad or weepy, an active child can become passive, a calm child may start acting aggressively for no reason.

On the other hand, some of the symptoms can be so subtle, Dr. Cameron says, that parents and clinicians can mistakenly blame behavioral or cognitive symptoms on a variety of factors such as the child’s developmental stage, mononucleosis, depression, or even spending too much time on cell phones. Too often, and this can be tragic, it can take years of misdiagnoses and misunderstanding before parents know what’s troubling their child, and by then the disease has become chronic.

Because some of their symptoms, such as irritability, joint aches and difficulty concentrating, can mirror “growing pains,” legitimately sick children are often overlooked, told that their problems are “all in their heads.” Parents and teachers may suspect the child or adolescent is simply trying to avoid schoolwork, daydreaming, or acting up, when, in fact, one or more insidious tick-borne illnesses might be the cause.

If a child’s behavior is out of character that could be a clue that Lyme disease needs to be seriously considered,” says Dr. Cameron. “Too many kids in schools today are needlessly suffering without a proper diagnosis.”

It’s important for a child to get tested for Lyme disease when unusual symptoms manifest. If you suspect your child may be suffering from Lyme symptoms, he or she should see a physician who is trained to evaluate, diagnose and treat tick-borne disease. The impact Lyme symptoms have on a child can be quite devastating and should not be underestimated.
