Medical Thriller About a Government Cover-Up

Were Lyme ticks really considered for use as bioweapons by the U.S.?

Being a skeptic about most claims of government conspiracies, I began reading Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons, by Kris Newby, with extra care. I paid especially close attention to Newby’s caveats and endnotes. Eventually, I grew to believe I could trust that she had used due diligence in researching and writing this book.

Her analysis needs to be taken seriously.

In short, Newby posits that the government of the United States, specifically its biological weapons program during the Cold War, experimented on ticks and other little beasties in order to learn the most efficient way to spread horrific disease among an enemy’s population, both military and civilian.

Newby, an award-winning science writer at Stanford University and the senior producer of the Lyme disease documentary, Under Our Skin, interviewed biosecurity experts and microbiologists doing cutting-edge research. One of her most crucial sets of interviews was with Willy Burgdorfer, the man who discovered the microbe behind Lyme.

Burgdorfer was open with Newby about his formerly secret role in developing bug-borne biological weapons during the Cold War. He freely admitted to opening up and adding other “bugs” to a vast number of imported ticks to try to make them more lethal and misery-causing. He told her he suspected that one of these military experiments may have gone wrong, perhaps releasing a batch of these super ticks into the countryside.

Burgdorger hinted to Newby that he realized eventually that what he had been doing was not a good thing. She states she wrote this book in hopes that a whistle-blower will come forward with more information.

Meanwhile, it appears that many in the medical community do not know exactly what they are dealing with. They have been known to use unreliable tests when patients show signs of chronic Lyme disease, and they do not make correct diagnoses. Newby and her husband were once bitten by ticks and, though it took 10 doctors and many years, they eventually got the necessary treatment.

I have a good friend who suffers greatly from the ravages of chronic Lyme disease, as do her now-grown children. It took decades before a correct diagnosis was arrived at, and by then, serious complications had set in. Her son, now virtually bedbound, apparently got the disease during his birth and, as yet, no cure has been found for him. The lives of my friend, her children, and millions of other Americans continue to be thoroughly compromised.

I’m not a medical doctor, nor am I personally involved in the Lyme community, but I know a fascinating topic and a very readable and credible book when I read it. I highly recommend you read Bitten and judge for yourself.

US Senator Collins from Maine introduces new Lyme Bill

MAY 25, 2019 —

Here we go again! More Lyme legislation leaving the CDC involved.

Those who have partaken in this crime against humanity need to be prosecuted and not allowed to participate in any future research. The CDC should be fired immediately with an investigation exposing the corruption so that this will never happen again.

Subject: Re: US Senator Collins from Maine introduces new Lyme Bill

Dear Representatives and Senators,

With all the legislation for Lyme disease across this country it should be crystal clear that the US Centers for Disease Control has failed in its duty to protect America.

CDC’s Mission Statement:

“CDC works 24/7 to protect America from health, safety and security threats, both foreign and in the U.S. Whether diseases start at home or abroad, are chronic or acute, curable or preventable, human error or deliberate attack, CDC fights disease and supports communities and citizens to do the same.”

The rush to create a vaccine should have been the tip-off as it was going to be the “cure-all” for an incurable/disabling disease.

Lyme disease was pigeonholed into its current status by the two principal investigators of the previous Lyme disease vaccines as these investigators conceptualized a disease that would enable vaccine development.

A preventive vaccine for Lyme disease would not satisfy the FDA if a chronic persistent infection and seronegative disease exist. The lead author of the one-size-fits-all IDSA Lyme treatment guideline (which matches the conceptualized disease) was the principal investigator of Connaught’s Lyme vaccine, Dr. Gary Wormser. This is a flagrant conflict of interest. We have been dealing with an antibiotic resistant/tolerant superbug purposely concealed to promote vaccine development.

When the LYMErix vaccine was pulled from the market the deception had to continue and this is why all the science identifying persistent infection must be ignored.

Leaving the CDC in control of Lyme disease under the watch of Health and Human services will allow this public health disaster to continue. It is no secret that the CDC has aligned itself with the defendants of the Texas racketeering lawsuit. In fact, all of this deception has been bought and paid for by taxpayer dollars as Dr. Gary Wormser has been given an open checkbook to publish his junk science under CDC Funding: RO1 CK 000152.

Legislation over the past three decades has done nothing to correct this public health crisis!

The definition of insanity; doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Where is the congressional investigation into the deliberate mishandling of Lyme disease? The CDC (And HHS) refuses to answer any questions. A congressional investigation with subpoena power requires these public health officials to testify under oath.

A congressional investigation is long overdue….STOP THIS MADNESS NOW TO SAVE LIVES!

I would like to remind everyone that Senator Ted Kennedy launched a congressional investigation into the CDC’s Tuskegee syphilis experiment.

You or a loved one is a single tick bite away from this travesty.

CDC Track Record for Lyme Disease

1. FAILURE to recognize quickly that antibody tests are inadequate for the management of Lyme disease. (This took thirty years???)

Direct Diagnostic Tests for Lyme Disease

Published: 11 October 2018 Paul Mead

2. FAILURE to recognize chronic relapsing seronegative Lyme disease.

Seronegative Chronic Relapsing Neuroborreliosis.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Published 1995

3. FAILURE to determine how Lyme disables it victim so we know what we’re dealing with here and how to treat it properly?

4. FAILURE to announce Lyme disease is capable of death and severe disability as reported by the patient community for the past three decades; public outcry over the severity of a disease that is destroying lives, ending careers while leaving its victim in financial ruin has been completely ignored.

5. COMPLETE FAILURE at disease control.

6. FAILURE to raise the health threat to HIGHEST ALERT now that the CDC has announced a record number of infections. Lyme now has an infection rate six times the AIDS epidemic and twice as prevalent as breast cancer.  (Where is the funding equivalent to the level of threat to public health?)

Record Number of Tickborne Diseases Reported in U.S. in 2017  November 14, 2018
https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2018/s1114-record-number-tickborne-diseases.html

7. FAILURE to recognize the bias propaganda/dogma dictated by the IDSA and American Lyme Disease Foundation while they focus on the acute stage of disease after early treatment/bulls-eye rash. (CDC gave 1.5 million dollars to Gary Wormser for his junk science focusing on the acute stage of disease)

As you well know Dr. Mead, untreated strep throat will progress to rheumatic fever, causing irreversible heart damage. Untreated syphilis leads to progressive disability and dementia, and untreated HIV infection progresses to AIDS with significant disability and death. What happens to the patient with Lyme disease who goes months, years or decades before diagnosis? (Due to false negative serological tests, uneducated medical community, no bulls-eye rash etc.)

Untreated Lyme is too often diagnosed as the chronic diseases of our time as we have witnessed in the Pennsylvania lawsuit. Lyme misdiagnosed as Multiple Sclerosis after four negative antibody tests for Lyme disease; tests that you now admit are inadequate in the management of Lyme disease.

So I ask the question:

Is the mismanagement of Lyme disease a result of incompetence or collusion?

Respectfully submitted,

Educating California About Lyme Disease

In this Newscast, two women from California are advocating for patients and educating others about Lyme disease, something that both are intimately affected by.

The first woman, Jody Hudson, lost her daughter to Lyme recently and since has founded the Alex Hudson Foundation.

The second woman, Jessica Devine, tells her own horror story of delayed diagnosis which has led to severe complications.  I’m thankful she explains that tick attachment time can be much shorter than what “authorities” and mainstream medicine state.

Illinois Lyme Insurance Bill Passes Senate Unanimously

Illinois-senate-vote-2

Legislation to give Lyme sufferers insurance coverage for antibiotics, testing and doctor visits today unanimously passed the Illinois Senate.

This comes two months after the measure unanimously passed the House.

HB 0889, sponsored by Representative Dan Swanson, amends the Illinois Insurance Code and makes conforming changes in the Health Maintenance Organization Act and the Illinois Public Aid Code.

After governor’s signature, it becomes effective on Jan. 1, 2020.

HELP! I’ve Been Bitten By a Tick. Now What?

https://www.lymedisease.org/bitten-by-tick/

LYME SCI: Help! I’ve been bitten by a tick. Now what?

Please go to link for full article written by Lonnie Marcum.  I’ve summarized necessary steps below:

  1. Take a picture of the tick while it’s still attached.
  2. Remove the tick properly and promptly.
  3. Place tick on clear tape and take a picture of the front and back.
  4. Put tick in plastic bag with a damp cotton ball, label with name, date, site of bite, and length of tick attachment.
  5. Wash bite area with soap and water, disinfect with rubbing alcohol and apply triple antibiotics ointment or antiseptic.
  6. Identify the tick:  tickencounter.org where you submit the picture and they will identify it for FREE.
  7. Mail tick in to see what pathogens are involved.  If your state doesn’t offer free testing, you can contact IGeneX, Tick Report, or Ticknology.
  8. See your doctor but understand testing at this point is futile as antibodies aren’t picked up in the first 4-6 weeks. Lyme has been and will always be a clinical diagnosis.
  9. ILADS recommends you discuss prophylaxis treatment (20 days of doxycycline – never the 1 dose as the research recommending this is flawed) if you’ve been bitten by a blacklegged tick. Everyone admits early diagnosis and treatment makes all the difference.  The “wait and see approach” has not worked.
  10. Understand that while this particular treatment can prevent Lyme, doxy will not touch many coinfections, so you can still develop symptoms if coinfections are involved.
  11. Write any symptoms that are not normal for you down in a calendar. Take pictures of any visual changes on the body.  Contact doctor asap if any signs appear.
  12. If tick results come back positive, ILADS recommends staying on treatment of 4-6 weeks for early Lyme.  Other confections will necessitate other medications.
