New Bill in Congress to Preserve Parental Rights During COVID-19

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE // August 13, 2020 // Washington, D.C. – On Friday, Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) introduced a bill on the floor of the US House, which would suspend a federal provision that generally requires states to file for Termination of Parental Rights (TPR) against parents whose children have spent 15 or more of the last 22 months in foster care or other state custody.

Moore’s bill is H.R. 7976, the “Suspend the Timeline Not Parental Rights During a Public Health Crisis Act.”

Proponents of the bill, who hail from all sides of the political spectrum, argue that suspending the arbitrary timeline just makes sense in this season of unintended and often-inescapable delays caused by reactions to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Before the pandemic, many of these children would have been returned to their families,” Jey Rajaraman, chief counsel for the Family Representation Project, Legal Services of New Jersey, said for a press release from the Congresswoman’s office. “But agencies have been unable to provide the services needed to facilitate reunification. We should not allow this pandemic to lead to unnecessary permanent termination of parent-child relationships.”

Andrew Brown, with the Texas Family Policy Foundation, agrees. “Parents who were diligently working services required to provide a safe, stable home for their children suddenly, and through no fault of their own, found themselves unable to access these services due to COVID-19 pandemic-related lockdowns. . . . A temporary suspension of termination timelines gives these parents a fair opportunity to restore their families and honors their decision to take personal responsibility by doing the hard work necessary to achieve reunification.”

“Termination of parental rights has been called ‘the death penalty of the family courts,’” adds Michael Ramey, executive director of ParentalRights.org. “By no means should we race to inflict it on families just because they had the extreme misfortune of being separated, often by overzealous state actors, in a time when COVID-19 alone prevents reunification.”

The Children’s Bureau of the US Department of Health and Human Services has urged states to employ an exemption for special circumstances; that exemption is already written into the federal law that created the guidelines in the first place, but many states are not making use of it. This leads to virtually random results from state to state—and often from judge to judge.

“Congress made this mess by putting this arbitrary guideline into the Adoption and Safe Families Act in the first place,” Ramey says. “Now it’s time for Congress to clean up their mess, by providing clear guidance for states to employ common sense instead.”

Tennessee Walks Back Child Wellbeing Guidance

The Tennessee Department of Education issued a letter this weekend completely withdrawing child wellbeing guidance that last week caused a tremendous outcry due to parental rights and family privacy concerns.
That letter, addressed to the Tennessee legislature and forwarded to us by one of our friends there, is attached here.
Last week’s policy guidance, created by the Child Wellbeing Task Force, set a goal for government agents to make contact with every child in the state. We cautioned that such a policy, if adopted, would threaten the right of parents to be presumed to act in their own child’s best interests. The policy would have treated every parent like a suspected child abuser.
The response letter states, “Governor Lee has asked our department to remove the guidance document and go back to the drawing board so we get this right.
“I want to assure you that we recognize the concerns that you and your constituents share, and we realize why those concerns exist…. I also acknowledge the vast difference between providing support for vulnerable children as opposed to any potential overreach into what parents determine is best for their children.”
(Their stated intention of providing support for vulnerable children is, tragically, necessary and a valid goal for state government.)
At this point, we have every reason to believe the letter is sincere, and that future steps to protect vulnerable children will not intrude on the rights of fit, loving parents to uphold their family’s privacy. We count this as a win for parental rights and for all families in your state.
In Tennessee as in every other state, however, we must remain vigilant against such threats as may arise in the future.

The government has quietly removed 1.3m coronavirus tests from its data because of double counting, raising fresh questions about the accuracy of the testing figures.

In the government’s daily coronavirus update on Wednesday, it announced it had lowered the figure for “tests made available” by about 10% and discontinued the metric.

An update on the page read: “An adjustment of -1,308,071 has been made to the historic data for the ‘tests made available’ metric. The adjustments have been made as a result of more accurate data collection and reporting processes recently being adopted within pillar 2.”

The Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) said the changes affected data reported between 14 May and 12 August. It said there had been “a double-counting of test kits that had been dispatched”, “which had not been removed from the lab’s processed data”.

Have enough autopsies been done across the world to produce answers to COVID-19? Objective reflection on practice is one of the ways that we solve problems. What place do autopsies have in this global COVID-19 pandemic?

A post on LinkedIn in April this year stating “First full autopsy on covid-19 patient” brought the issue to light.

There are probably many reasons for limiting the number of autopsies during this pandemic, but unfortunately these have not been considered an important part of our strategy. Pathological examination of tissue represents the foundation of medicine. Without this piece of the puzzle we are walking in the dark.

Let us make a fresh start and invest the necessary resources to do detailed pathological examination on as many patients as possible who have died with COVID-19.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – We all know it’s very warm to simply miserably hot and humid for what seems like at least 6 months a year here in Alabama. Unfortunately, that is the perfect recipe for ticks, tick-related illnesses and poisonous plant growth.

But the number of ticks and poisonous plants has and will likely continue to rise across the state as our seasons continue to get warmer and more humid. Not only that, but the danger factor associated with both ticks and poisonous plants is also rising. Our ‘authorities’ are only too happy to get side-tracked with climate data rather than come clean on their involvement.  Dr. Fauci, the king on the NIAID throne since 1984 (interesting year, huh?), decides who gets government funding for research.  Through his position he can control the narrative and in the case of Lyme/MSIDS, he wants to continue to pigeon-hole it into an easily defined illness they can create lucrative tests, drugs, and vaccines for.  This is what they do.  They own medicine and science and are completely in bed with Big Pharma.  If you defy this accepted narrative, they will hunt you down and make your life miserable.  Many Lyme doctors have gone through this trial by fire.

In reference to the following statement from the “Tick bite” paper:
“…most tick bites are harmless and do not transmit Lyme disease. Apart from in high risk areas, most ticks (=85%) are not infected. In Europe, including the UK, between 5% and 40% of ticks may be infected.1 Only 2-3% of people with a tick bite develop Lyme disease.”

This is like playing Russian roulette with one’s health…. five of the chambers in a six shooter do not contain a projectile (83%). So no big deal… everyone should play the game!

Patient testimony all across the United States and (the globe) is describing a disease that is destroying lives, ending careers while leaving its victim in financial ruin. [1]

Is this publication a continuation of a racketeering scheme to downplay the severity of Lyme disease? [2]

Patients who miss the narrow window of opportunity for successful short-term treatment (due to a false negative serologic test, missing bulls-eye rash, misdiagnosis, etc. etc.) advance to late stage debilitating neurologic Lyme and are left to fend for themselves and are often told that they need a psychiatric evaluation.

Question: What was the motivation for this paper on tick-borne Lyme disease?

Dear Dr. Godlee,

The fixation on the acute stage of Lyme disease with bulls-eye rash and early treatment has long been established here in America. Avoidance of the horribly disabled Lyme patient population and suppression of persistent infection after extensive antibiotic treatment is the established modus operandi of the academics who have controlled the Lyme disease narrative for the past thirty years. As mentioned in my previous letter to the editor, ( published on June 10, 2020) these academics are now defendants in a racketeering lawsuit in Texas District Court.

Focusing on the acute stage of disease gives the illusion that Lyme is a simple nuisance disease but it is well known that strep throat left untreated progresses to rheumatic fever causing irreversible heart damage.

So, what happens to the Lyme patient who goes months, years or decades without treatment because of a “false negative serologic test, missing bulls-eye rash, misdiagnosis, etc. etc”?

The consequences of untreated Lyme disease are not emphasized in the Razai paper but Lyme left untreated can lead to horrible disability.

I didn’t find any of these references in the Razai paper or references of persistent infection after extensive antibiotic treatment which as you know were omitted from the Kullberg paper.

So who are the peer reviewers of these two papers and what is the connection if any to the defendants of the racketeering lawsuit?

Please note the polar opposite way ‘authorities’ handle Lyme/MSIDS vs COVID.  It’s clearly known that the elderly population with co-morbidities are mostly at risk for COVID with a similar mortality rate as seasonal flu, yet the world is stopped, faces are covered, and the media is whipped up into a frenzy spreading daily fear porn.

Versus

Lyme/MSIDS which is growing exponentially everywhere, many are not getting well after standard treatment, and it’s becoming more widely known that Lyme is just the tip of the spear, with ticks transmitting much more than just Lyme.  Yet, funding for Lyme/MSIDS research is abysmal, nothing has changed in over 40 years, and the world is still waiting to hear the outcome of a racketeering lawsuit as well as an inquiry into our own government experimenting and dropping ticks out of airplanes.  Doctors are still woefully uneducated and hide behind ancient CDC dogma that hasn’t changed, despite new evidence.  The same corrupt players are doing the same biased research on our dime.

It’s crystal clear that there is much more at play than meets the eye because if you are going to use statistics, at least use the same logic, yet we are told 85% of ticks aren’t infected and not to worry (despite the fact ticks are being found in areas they shouldn’t be, full of pathogens they shouldn’t have) yet it’s known that 81% of us can mount a strong response to COVID-19 without ever having been exposed to it before.  It’s also known that 80% of people with COVID are mildly ill.  We also know that up to 80% are asymptomatic – meaning they have ZERO symptoms.

The question begging to be asked is why are these 80% figures being treated completely differently.  With ticks we are told, “Don’t worry, be happy,” yet when it comes to COVID, we are told “cover your face, don’t leave your house, shutter your business, keep kids home from school, and wash your hands repeatedly,” ad nauseum.

Something doesn’t smell right.  Time to speak up about this disparity.
