This event is taking place during the Dane County Farmers Market. The market is always very busy so it’s a good idea to plan ahead of time and figure out your parking and give yourself enough time to get to the State Street side of the Capitol.  If you are from out-of-town use Google maps to help you find your way.

*You could also drive into town, park your car and take a taxi cab up to the square.  Call 608-242-2000 or visit www.unioncab.com.  You can use the following link to go directly to the “Order a Taxi” page.  https://weborders.unioncab.coop/order/

***Dropping off people at the Dane County Farmers Market***

***to attend the Lyme Rally by vehicle***

There are handicap parking spaces in the driveways that lead up to the doors of the Capitol Building on 4 sides of the building. There are 3 spots in each drive way. You must have the legal handicap stickers, or placard on or in your vehicle displayed for them to see to legally park there.

As an option for those in wheelchairs or people not able to walk from the parking ramps to the State Street side steps you can be dropped off by vehicle on the Wisconsin Ave. or West Washington Ave. side of the building in the circle driveways. Then you can walk to the State Street side of the building or be pushed in your wheel chair on the  upper/inner sidewalk that is closest to the building. The rally takes place at the top of the steps on the State Street corner of the building.

I have made a picture map to give you a better idea of what I am talking about.  You can click on it to enlarge the photo for better viewing.

Thank you Jeannette

I’d like to give a big thank you to Jeanette Wheat for writing this and submitting it to the Wisconsin State Journal.  It was a great surprise and I appreciate the awareness and exposure to this website.  It’s important that everyone is able to find support and help when faced with such a devastating disease.

I hope this article is able to reach some people that are unaware that we have a support group here in Madison that meets monthly.  It’s open to the public and we meet in local libraries.  Check out the meetings page to find out the next meeting day, time and location.

Thank you very much Jeanette!

Dr. Hoffmann’s Clinic Reopened

Doctor Hoffmann’s clinic is open and he is able to see any and all previous patients.  So if you saw him before you can see him again.  He has many openings and we think that some people might not know that he’s back.

We all fought hard at getting him back so lets make sure we fill his office.  If you all can spread the word that would be wonderful.

THANKS!

The funds raised at the May 19th 2012 Lace Up For Lyme Walk enables the Wisconsin Lyme Network {501 c3} to sponsor the statewide newsletter named VIEW {Vector-borne Illness Education of WI.} The first draft of VIEW will be mailed to every Physician in the state of WI. Yes, EVERY physician.

The first edition of the VIEW focuses on:

  • Lyme is a clinical diagnosis.
  • Lyme and co-infection testing is inaccurate and should not be relied upon to treat those infected.
  • Ticks carry Babesia, Bartonella, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis as well as lyme.
  • The symptoms to watch for regarding these co-infections.

The newsletter is an introduction for physicians all over the state of WI to the epidemic of tick-borne illness in this state. We have set up a special e-mail address in which physicians can contact Wisconsin Lyme Network for further information and/or training in vector-borne illness. A generous WI patron passed away recently and left tens of thousands of dollars specifically ear marked for training WI physicians according to ILADS treatment protocols. We will be able to train several Physicians with these funds.

Feel free to share this news letter with family and friends and of course medical professionals.  You can visit Wisconsin Lyme Network’s website at :  http://www.wisconsinlyme.net
