Woman battling Lyme disease seeks Medical Assistance in Dying

Unable to work, Lavoie has sought out alternative treatments when the health-care system failed her. She needs round the clock care but is unable to afford it anymore.
Last year a 22 year old Montreal woman died by suicide when her Lyme/MSIDS became unbearable. The parents state she was a victim of a failed health-care system. Quebec’s chief coroner ordered a public inquiry into her death. She suffered from sleep disorders, auditory hallucinations, and personality changes.
