Radiation From Wireless Devices May Cause Breast Cancer, New Study Shows

A meta-analysis of eight studies reveals that exposure to radiation from cell phones, iPads and laptops significantly increases the risk of breast cancer, especially for women over 50.

A new meta-analysis study reveals that exposure to radiation from wireless devices such as cell phones, iPads and laptops significantly increases the risk of breast cancer.

The meta-analysis study (a statistical analysis that combines the results of multiple scientific studies) examined eight studies that were published between 1996-2015. The highest risk was found in women over 50.

There are many studies that can provide a causal mechanism. For example, it has been shown that exposure to radio frequency (RF) radiation (the radiation emitted from wireless devices) may cause a decrease in melatonin production, and studies have demonstrated that reduced melatonin levels may lead to breast cancer.

Dr. John West, a breast cancer specialist, has published case studies which provide clinical support to these findings. West published some of these cases in a 2013 paper, “Multifocal Breast Cancer in Young Women with Prolonged Contact between Their Breasts and Their Cellular Phones.” These cases reveal breast cancer in women under 40 even though breast cancer is rare in women that young when there is no family history or genetic predisposition.

Four cases of women ages 21 to 39 show multifocal invasive breast cancer. The spread of the tumors and the fact that all of these women reported carrying their smartphones in their bra suggests a possible association with exposure to radiation from cell phones.

West recently joined the advisory board of Physicians for Safe Technology, an organization of physicians and health professionals whose mission is to provide trusted leadership in promoting safer use of technology.

Other doctors report similar findings. In a video posted by Kevin Kunze, producer of the movie “Mobilize,” Dr. Robert Nagourney presents the case of one of his patients, Donna, a young healthy athletic woman who kept her cell phone in her bra and developed breast cancer. The spread of the tumors in her breast resembles the shape of the cell phone.

A 10-year study by the U.S. government found clear evidence that cell phones cause  cancer. The study was conducted by the National Toxicology Program(NTP), the U.S. expert agency on toxins, and it was the biggest study of its kind. The results were confirmed by another major study by a leading scientific body, the Ramazzini Institute.

Nevertheless, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), which is entrusted with regulating the impact of wireless technology on health, dismissed the results of the study and refused to review its 1996 guidelines that deny adverse health effects of wireless technology. In February 2020, Children’s Health Defense filed a lawsuit against the FCC challenging the FCC’s decision not to review the guidelines. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit will hear oral arguments in the case on Jan. 25, 2021.

BRAIN FOG IN COVID-19 AND LYME DISEASE PATIENTS

man with COVID-19 and brain fog

COVID-19 patients report having brain fog, as do patients with Lyme disease. Brain fog can be a common symptom following an infection, Marie Grill, a neurologist at the Mayo Clinic tells Wired magazine. There are several theories regarding the cause of brain fog, including immune dysfunction, a reaction to a cocktail of medications, changes in blood flow to the brain, and post-traumatic stress.

Lyme disease patients often describe suffering from brain fog. So do COVID-19 patients. Sara Harrison wrote about COVID-19 brain fog in the online journal Wired.

What are examples of COVID-19 brain fog?

Dr. Aluko Hope from Montefiore Hospital in New York City described what he has learned from listening to COVID-19 patients. “About a third of his patients say they can’t recall telephone numbers they used to know, or that they struggle to remember the right word, feeling like it’s on the tip of their tongue but just out of reach. They can’t remember where their keys are, what basic traffic rules are.”

Dr. Adam Kaplan, a neuropsychiatrist at Johns Hopkins University, adds “This mental fuzziness, often referred to as ‘brain fog,’ has become one of a number of reported COVID-19 recovery symptoms.”

“They say their brains work more slowly,” explains Kaplan. “They can’t pick up information in conversation as easily as they used to, and they struggle with short-term memory: They’ll walk to the kitchen, for instance, and forget what they were looking for. Multitasking is impossible. It takes them longer to get things done, and they often feel confused and overwhelmed. Some patients struggle to return to work or to school.”

What are the causes of COVID-19 brain fog?

The causes of brain fog in COVID-19 have yet to be identified. But scientists believe contributing factors may include nerve damage, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, changes in blood flow to the brain, or effects from a cocktail of drugs used to sedate patients while ventilated. However, brain fog occurs in patients who have not been hospitalized.

Another explanation focuses on the body’s immune response to the virus. “Something about that activation of the immune system is potentially causing worse cognitive function,” says Joanna Hellmuth, a neurologist at the UC San Francisco Memory and Aging Center. “It might be that prolonged immune activation after COVID is creating these cognitive changes.”

Brain fog often follows infections

“We do have experience with this,” says Marie Grill, a neurologist at the Mayo Clinic, as she points out that brain fog often follows other infections like Lyme disease, Epstein-Barr (better known as “mono”), and other types of herpes viruses. “A lot of us are not surprised at all to be encountering this, because we have seen it so many times.”

What is the future for individuals with COVID-19 brain fog?

”Scientists don’t know how long these cognitive changes will last in COVID-19 patients, nor if they will have a lasting effect on brain function,” says Hellmuth.

How can doctors tell the difference between COVID-19 fog and Lyme fog?

The article in Wired did not address this all-important question.

Systemic Bartonellosis Manifesting With Endocarditis and Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis

Free PMC article

Abstract

Cat scratch disease caused by Bartonella species is mostly benign and self-limiting condition. Systemic infection is uncommon in immunocompetent host. We describe the case of a 66-year-old male who presented with sudden painless left eye blindness and brown-colored urine. Laboratory findings revealed progressively rising serum creatinine in association with nephrotic-range proteinuria at 7 g/day and glomerular hematuria on urinalysis. An echocardiogram demonstrated mitral and tricuspid valve vegetations despite multiple negative blood cultures. The left eye blindness was attributed to retinal artery occlusion from septic valvular embolus. Kidney biopsy showed membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis pattern of injury with “full house” pattern on immunofluorescent staining with subendothelial deposits on electron microscopy. Markedly elevated IgG (immunoglobulin G) titers for B henselae and B quintana were discovered. The patient had several cats at home. Kidney failure rapidly progressed to require hemodialysis. Once the diagnosis of systemic bartonellosis was confirmed, doxycycline (for 4 months) with rifampicin (for 3 months) were initiated. Repeat echocardiogram in 4 months demonstrated a resolution of valvular vegetations; however, the left eye blindness was permanent. In the present case the correct diagnosis of systemic bartonellosis allowed institution of appropriate antibiotic therapy and to also achieve a partial recovery of renal function and to discontinue hemodialysis.

I must object to Bartonella being “mostly benign and self-limiting.”  Anyone who has ever had this beast will agree.  It’s not fun and it’s very tenacious.  I could rattle off over 20 cases of systemic infection with Bartonella in immunocompetent patients – some quite severe.

Researchers need to cease and desist from stating prevalence when testing for all tick-borne infections is abysmal – missing thousands of infected patients.  Since these patients are not being diagnosed, they aren’t counted – which means nobody has a clue on how many are infected.  Researchers can state there are limited recorded cases in the literature, but that is a far cry from reality.  They need to refrain from diminishing this any longer.  It’s almost becoming humorous – if it wasn’t so devastating.

Abstract

Lyme borreliosis (LB), caused by spirochetes of the Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (s.l.) complex, is one of the most common vector-borne zoonotic diseases in Europe. Knowledge about the enzootic circulation of Borrelia pathogens between ticks and their vertebrate hosts is epidemiologically important and enables assessment of the health risk for the human population. In our project, we focused on the following vertebrate species:

  • European hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus)
  • Northern white-breasted hedgehog (E. roumanicus)
  • Eurasian red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris)
  • Common blackbird (Turdus merula).

The cadavers of accidentally killed animals used in this study constitute an available source of biological material, and we have confirmed its potential for wide monitoring of B. burgdorferi s.l. presence and genospecies diversity in the urban environment.

High infection rates were observed in all four target host species; mixed infections by several genospecies were detected on the level of individuals, as well as in particular tissue samples.
  • 90% for E. erinaceus
  • 73% for E. roumanicus
  • 91% for S. vulgaris
  • 68% for T. merula

These findings show the usefulness of multiple tissue sampling as tool for revealing the occurrence of several genospecies within one animal and the risk of missing particular B. burgdorferi s.l. genospecies when looking in one organ alone.

You have to admire their tenacity!

And this needs to be done on human autopsies!  The high infection rates aren’t surprising because they are looking in multiple tissues.  This should be shared widely as a reason why human patients are not getting the attention they deserve.

This doctor shows how Lyme is in tissues and doesn’t hang out long in the blood:  https://madisonarealymesupportgroup.com/2020/12/15/lyme-disease-is-a-small-vessel-disease-dr-klemann/  This is why serology testing and short-term treatments don’t work.

FDA Shuts Down Natural Pain Options

Dec. 12, 2020

by Alliance for Natural Health

FDA-approved pain medicines are dangerous, but the government is systematically attacking safer, non-addictive natural treatments. Action Alert!

A recent study in Switzerland found that acetaminophen poisoning increased by 40% following the approval of 1,000mg doses. This is just the latest data to indicate the public health problems caused by this commonly used pain drug, which is the active ingredient in Tylenol.

Despite the dangers of FDA-approved pain drugs, the federal government aggressively attacks and censors natural pain medicines like homeopathic treatments, CBD, medical foods, and supplements. This needless suffering must end.

We’ve written for years about the dangers of acetaminophen. It is the most commonly prescribed class of drugs despite causing 50 percent of all liver failure in the US. According to the FDA’s adverse event database, acetaminophen has caused more than 100,000 adverse events and more than 78,000 serious adverse events, including 24,000 deaths. It has also been linked to asthma and hearing loss.

Overdoses involving opioids killed nearly 47,000 people in 2018 alone.

Now consider the federal government’s approach to natural pain medicines. The FDA essentially banned all injectable homeopathic medicines, which includes Traumeel, a prescription-only homeopathic medicine for pain with an extremely robust safety profile.

Previously, the FDA went after Limbrel, a medical food for the treatment of osteoarthritis. In a letter to Primus, the FDA stated that 194 adverse event reports for Limbrel were received between 2007 and 2017—about 20 a year.

Then, of course, there’s CBD. The federal government’s approach to CBD right now is frankly a mess, and we’ve sifted through the details in previous coverage. In short, hemp and its derivatives have been legalized at the federal level, but FDA laws still apply to products containing hemp, such as supplements, lotions, cosmetics, etc. Since 2018, the FDA has been trying to figure out how it will treat these products. Recall, too, that the agency has approved a CBD drug, and according to FDA rules, this means that CBD cannot legally be sold as a supplement.

We ultimately don’t know how the FDA will treat CBD supplements. If history provides any clues, the FDA will protect the drug-approval process and ban CBD supplements. To add to the confusion, Congress is directing the FDA to release an interim policy (called a policy of enforcement discretion) explaining how it will treat CBD products in the marketplace as the agency develops its final regulatory framework. Will the FDA release an interim policy that allows CBD supplements for the time being before banning them outright when a final policy is released? We just don’t know, but we should assume that the FDA will not do the right thing, especially when Big Pharma profits are at stake.

It is unconscionable, but unsurprising, that the FDA would reduce access to safe, non-addictive alternatives to dangerous opioid drugs that killed 30,000 people in 2018 alone. We’ve also seen basic information on natural health censored to protect drug industry profits during the COVID-19 pandemic. This cronyism has to stop.

Action Alert! Write to Congress and the FDA, telling them to issue a policy of enforcement discretion that protects consumer access to hemp-derived CBD supplements at therapeutic levels and full-spectrum hemp oil. Please send your message immediately. By sending this message, you will also be supporting our petition to ungag doctors so that they can share with patients the benefits of supplements and natural treatments for COVID.
