Come and see Under Our Skin at Creekside Place in Evansville.

This award-winning documentary film tells the controversial story about Lyme Disease. Each year, thousands of people go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed, often told that their painful and debilitating symptoms are “in their head.”
The film follows the stories of Lyme patients fighting for their lives and Lyme physicians fighting for their livelihoods in a health care system driven by insurance companies. Short-listed for an Oscar in 2009, Under Our Skin has been named “best documentary” at film festivals around the country. The Los Angeles Times calls it “eye-opening, frightening, powerful stuff.” Running time is 103 minutes.

Admission is free.

Mike Nichols

Mike Nickel, past president of the Wisconsin Lyme Network, will lead a discussion following the film. The Wisconsin Lyme Network is an educational group dedicated to providing support, promoting research, and raising awareness about Lyme and associated diseases. Nickel is also moderator of an online Lyme support board which currently serves hundreds of people from all over Wisconsin. He lives in Wausau.

Worldwide Lyme Disease Awareness Event – WI

Day:  Saturday May 17, 2014

Time:  From 11am to 2pm

Location:  The Wisconsin State Capitol * taking place on the State Street side of the building.

Please share this event information.  We would like as many people to show up as possible.  This is our chance to be seen and heard. I know many people are too sick to leave their homes on any given day, so if you can, I urge you to stand up for yourself and all the others who are suffering.

This rally will be taking place during the Dane County Farmers Market so there will be onlookers but having as many people there who are or have suffered from Lyme Disease and associated tick borne illnesses along with our family,  friends and supporters is crucial for making this a successful event.

For information about the Worldwide Lyme Disease Awareness Event go to the WWLDAP2014 website.
