Paralyzed by Marina Morgan
At 13, Marina was in a wheelchair due to Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM), an auto immune disease with inflammation in the brain and spinal cord that damages the covering of nerve fibers. After having to relearn how to walk and use her arms, she seemed well for the next 10 years.
Last year she developed esophageal spasms making it nearly impossible to swallow, as well as muscle weakness in her arms and legs. She couldn’t see out of one eye.
A year later Marina was finally treated for Lyme Disease.
After three months of IV antibiotics her vision has returned but other progress is slow.
Marina wants all of you to be inspired by her song.
