Unedited interview with Dr. Phillips Fox 5 NY

  Approx. 40 min

For those of you who really need TRUTH, please watch this.  Although it’s a bit long, Phillips hits things head on.

My only beef is his statement about tick activity occurring at 35 degrees and warmer.

Again – tick activity – ANYTIME!

https://madisonarealymesupportgroup.com/2016/01/20/polar-vorticks/  Deer ticks alive and well after 24 hours in minus 3 degree temps.

He talks about sexual and congenital transmission,  and via breast milk at the end.

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) – Coverage included an interview with Gigi Hadid talking about her mother Yolanda Foster’s Lyme Disease.  Yolanda’s other daughter, supermodel Bella Hadid, 17, and son Anwar Hadid, 16, are also infected.

Lyme disease is most common tick-borne illness in North America and Europe.
Symptoms include fever, chills, fatigue, body aches and a headache.  Less than 50% see the classic bullseye rash.

Put in a psychiatric hospital by her dad, Ally went through hell and back with Lyme/MSIDS.  She suffered with more than a decade with bouts of strep throat, pain throughout her body especially her knees, difficulty concentrating and paranoia.

Unfortunately Ally propagated a myth.  She stated that if it’s 42 degrees, ticks are out and alive.

https://madisonarealymesupportgroup.com/2016/01/20/polar-vorticks/

Fact: In most areas of the country, “tick season” runs from April to November, however, infection can occur any time of the year. For example, in the winter, some tick species actually move indoors, while other species make a type of “internal antifreeze” to survive during the winter months. This is often why veterinarians will recommend year-round tick prevention.

Deer Ticks in this video survived 3 degrees overnight.

Since I live in the tundra of Wisconsin I can attest to this.  You can pull ticks off your dog in February and they are alive and well.

Dr. Spector on Fox 5 NY

 Approx. 7 min

Kudos to Dr. Spector for speaking up on Lyme Disease/MSIDS.  Even he was initially told he was just “stressed.”  His initial test was not positive enough, a result most of us are all too familiar with.  He retested multiple times and finally got his positive.

Dr. Spector’s advice to all of us:  BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE!!  He also states we need more research and he’s working on it, and that he will never run in the woods again.

Speech by Valedictorian with Lyme Disease

Please share this – particularly to children with Lyme/MSIDS and their parents.  There is hope!  This dear young lady managed to fight this horrific disease(s) and not only graduate from high school, but graduated with a 4.0 GPA.  Then, true to form, she educates people and thanks everyone who played a part in her journey.

Please remind children with Lyme/MSIDS that while they have to slow down when they are having bad days, they will be able to speed up later.  It’s hard to be patient, but if there’s one thing I’ve HAD to learn with MSIDS, it’s patience!
